There isn't any valid "Book Value" from the Kelly Blue Book or NADA Guide on a car like this. Book value inherently only account for national averages. If an average vehicle is what you are looking for, I am sure you can find them easily, just not from me. Figures both selling and buying for cars like this are subjective in nature and the only number that counts, if you are the seller, is the one from a serious buyer that makes you an offer. Well, if you've made it this far and you are reading about this Mustang instead of just gawking at the pictures, you must be more interested in the details. Details are all about what we do here at Viva Las Vegas Autos. First, a little back story on how I came in contact with this car. As a dealer I attend various auctions all over the western US. At one of the Las Vegas dealer auctions, I needed to pick up a title for another car and drop off a title too. This was on a Thursday, the same day that this particular auctions runs their vehicles. I normally don't attend this auction because it consists mostly of rental returns and fleet vehicles as well as some dealers bring their junk trades there too. Generally not my cup of tea for autos I usually have interest in. I am all about specialty cars and trucks, the rare hard to find vehicles that an enthusiast like me, find interest in. When one of the title clerks asked me that morning if I would be attending the auction that day, I responded with "No, I rarely ever come here" and she suggested that since I would need to wait a few minutes for them to get my documents together, that I go out and see if I could find anything interesting. Reluctantly, I agreed to pass my time and go see what was out there. Walking out the auction lanes, I spotted right outside the entry doors, this black convertible Mustang GT. Obviously, the hood and wheels instantly suggested something more interesting than a stock car. I walked over to the car and spotted the roll cage inside, the racing seats and then I realized the wheels were at least 12-13" deep and tucked under the rear factory fenders. My interest went from mild to wild pretty damn quick. I dropped to the ground near the rear of the car and briefly looked at the cornucopia of hardware. OMG! My interest meter was nearly pegged on overload and I hadn't even popped the hood yet or heard the Mustang running. Jumping to my feet, I found the car door open and popped the hood. Now, mind you, I had no idea why this car was there, who brought it and there was no information posted anywhere on the car. When I opened the hood I was trying to maintain my composed looks as if the possible owner was behind me watching for my interest...I didn't want to give away any of my excitement for fear the possible owner would make me pay dearly at the block.

While staring at all the components of the engine, I googled the Procharger F1-A-94 to see what the horse power rating was. I am a quick study when it comes to performance parts, Google can be the best when you don't have exacts. Looking at the size of the supercharger told me enough, get the ratings... oh and the ratings spoke volumes...rated up to 1200 Horse Power! Gulp! At this point, here's how my mind works... I am seeing this 2012 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Premium that someone mini tubed, installed a 10 point through dash roll cage, frame connections underneath the car that look like a masterpiece and an engine bay that may produce up to 1200hp. Oh did I mention the stopping power of 6 piston Wheelwood brakes in front and 4 piston brakes in the rear? OK, I know I am drawing this out but it's all part of the excitement I get to have when I am buying a car for my market. So, I had to reel myself back in... Maybe this car is only 500-700hp, maybe it's here because the engine is blown or the tranny is trashed...who knows anything about this car...who has the keys? With my excitement meter on overload I decided to walk away...the car wasn't slated to go over the block until the tenth to the last car of the auction; two hours from the point the auction started. So I sat back about 20 yards away and watched to see if I could spot the owner or maybe someone who knew something about the car. After an hour I saw a few guys go over and look at the car for minutes but not one drop down to even look under the car. No one had the keys in their hands, no one started it. It just sat there as vehicle after vehicle ran past and over the block. Finally one of the auction employees showed up with the keys and a couple other auction employees gathered around the car. I immediately went over to see if they had any information about the car. The guy with the keys knew it was a bank owned car being sold at the auction. OH YES! Instantly I was relieved that it wasn't a dealer selling it. Simply because no dealer in his right mind would sell the car there unless it was trashed. If the bank was selling it that could possibly mean that the original owner may have lost it in default or something like that. When the guy with the keys allowed me to start the Mustang, all my fears instantly faded away. This car was not trashed! This car was not anything other than pure adrenalin waiting to pound pavement. At this point I didn't even know that the car had exhaust cutouts and they were closed. The car was reasonably quiet. You could hear the blow off valve hissing, the rev of the car was spectacular but I didn't want to draw too much attention to the car at that point either. She sounded flawlessly well sorted and strong. There was no indication whatsoever of internal issues. Now, you can't drive cars at these auctions but they will announce major issues if known. One of the auction employees that parked the car in its staging spot told me that the car drove great and didn't have any known issues that they could find. I could see the airbag light was on, duh...this car was so modified and that light was going to remain on if front sensors were removed for the intercooler. The tire monitor light was on as well...again ok, these wheels were just as modified. I could live with that. So all there was now was the wait for the car to go over the block and see how I would fair against 300 other buyers there at the auction.

When you're an enthusiast but also a dealer, you've got to keep your head about you when buying. If you get to excited, the auctioneer is going to see that and so is the seller and other potential buyers. Now here in Las Vegas, I will admit, there are very few dealers like myself...exactly NONE. Most dealers do not buy cars like this...at least the dealers I rub shoulders with. They are more interested in filling up their holes in their lots with run of the mill cars and trucks. They rely on drive by traffic and Craigslist buyers to frequent their lots. NOT ME! I am exclusive with what I buy. It has to turn my crank, blow up my skirt, and make me want to feel like I just jumped out of a plane to skydive back to earth. Well, I had a pretty good feeling this car was going to make me feel like that. So, I waited another 45 minutes for this car to run over the block. As it came time to go over the block, the 300 or so other dealers that attended the auction were diminished down to about 20 or so. They started the car and began to pull it into the building. I positioned myself at the auctioneers left or where the hood of the car would come to a stop. To my right, there were two dealers that did not look like they were there for this car. To my left, three guys that looked like they were just there waiting for the cars running after. The car took position under the auctioneer's raised podium. The banker lady beside him...they started the auction at an ungodly high figure as they always do...then he quickly suggested figures that were lower, then lower, then lower as everyone including me just stood there and starred. No hand raised up...So I grabbed my nuts and raised my head and suggested a starting number...a glad auctioneer took my number and clamored for more money from another bidder other than me... crickets... more crickets...the five other guys standing alongside me, just looked at me like I was a black sheep...60 second later and no other bidders, the auctioneer turned to the banker lady and asked, Sell It? With a simple nod, he pointed at me and yelled, SOLD. That whole experience took about 5 minutes. I was thrilled and nervous all at the same time. I just bought a HIGHLY MODIFIED car that I knew nearly SQUAT about. I went into the auction office and got my gate pass to remove the car and drove it for the first time. Located the car back out on the lot and was accosted by six guys that worked at the auction that were excited to see me drive off with this monster. Hopped into the car, flicked the key and rumbled off the lot. Smooth sailing so far, although I could not test the performance on their property. Out on the road, headed down through North Las Vegas I had to keep it calm. Finally on the freeway, I could open this bad-boy up...but quickly understood that any full throttle would explode this car into mind numbing triple digit speeds, let alone, 13 inch slicks that gripped the ground like they were on rails.

Extreme speeds were instantly attainable, power bands flawlessly executed, the six speed Tremec obviously modified to launch this Mustang with EXTREME authority. I have jumped out of a few planes skydiving, I haven't based jumped, but I can only imagine the thrill because a car like this DOES JUSTY THAT....IT THRILLS. And at this point, all I had done, was jump in the car and hit the freeway back to the shop 35 miles away. The entire trip back to the shop left me with extreme confidence that I had NOT bought a problem car. My goodness, the air conditioning was blowing ice cold. The gauges all functioning properly, the radio sounded great, no understeer or oversteer. In fact, the car handled like it had been built for the track or road racing...flawlessly tight. Flawlessly functional, extremely comfortable as well. But more importantly than anything this car had brut power on tap that was over the top explosive at any speed. Mind Numbing, Grip the Steering Wheel and shift this monster into gear and lay it down on command. Yes, I had a grin from ear to ear and my heart rate was elevated to that happy level as endorphins flooded my body. Yes, for those that need a rush, this car delivers. Thirty minutes later I was at my shop and almost immediately had this car on the lift to see the delightful masterpiece underneath.

As you will soon see in the pictures below, the underside of this Mustang will tell a huge story of the Passion for Power its owner had when building this car. Actually anywhere you look on this car, you can see the Passion for Power in every component used to build such a powerful, yet reliable Pro-touring beast. Not knowing anything about the car, its builder or its history...I went into research mode. At the time, I didn't have any documentation of who the owner was so I started to dig in on what I could find. It appeared that the car started its life in Central Texas but that lead to nothing. So, the next step I took was to take it down to a local speed shop highly known for building performance vehicles known to produce horse powers north of 2000. Insane Power, owned by builder Brett Bergeron, would be the best guy to look at this build and assess the condition and also run a full Dyno for me. If you check out his website, you will see his technical background for those with Passion for Power. He is also building monster engines for a show that will be on the Discovery Channel. Yes, he knows his motors and knows when he see and hears a well built car. His first impression was very positive. Noting that someone went to a lot of trouble and big money to put a lot of power into a convertible and create the frame alterations to handle the potential power. As soon as he opened the hood, his first words were..."somebody did this car right!" His New York character never says anything other than his true thoughts. One look at the ProCharger Supercharger, the F1-A-94 and he knew somebody was aiming for quadruple digit figures on the Dyno. Now, not knowing anything about the car, I had just filled the car with premium gas; the fuel cell only a 12 gal tank and I didn't want to run out of gas during the Dyno run. We pulled the car onto his DynoJet Dyno, one of the industry's most accurate and conservative dynos, strapped this beast on and prepped it for its first Dyno. Bret made all the adjustments preparatory to a full-on test then let this beast roll. 685hp to the rear wheels on the third run. Bret was impressed and immediately stated that he could feel the quality of the build, the responsiveness and of the components as he ran the dyno. With a conservative 15% drivetrain loss he estimated the car to be over 800 hp. But not just a number, but a truly tight and built right monster. I drove back to the shop very happy with his assessment of both the car and the build quality. He told me that if someone came to his shop wanting to produce a similar car with the same components, they'd be looking at a six figure bill. He also suggested that any interested buyer would be welcome to hear his opinion with a simple phone call. Still, I had no real concrete information on this car and its ownership history. What happened next was just pure luck and magical.

I brought the car back to my shop and decided to give it a good detail. As I was working on the inside of the car, I found a single receipt for tires under the passenger side seat. I about jumped out of my shoes with excitement. There was a name and phone number of a Texas resident on the paper. I called the number...disconnected! Ugh! It wasn't going to be easy but I have a passion for getting information when I need it so, I got online and started searching Texas for a resident of the same name on the receipt. That was futile and then I started looking on Facebook. My 19 year old daughter got involved and we both started looking for the possible prior owner. Looking in Texas, we thought we found the right owner, but it didn't pan out. About two hours later, my daughter rushed into my office exclaiming she had found the car and its owner. She searched in Las Vegas Facebook for a person with the same name as on the receipt, started scrolling through their pictures and by luck, happened to find just one picture of this car in the driveway of their Las Vegas home. BINGO! I immediately sent off a message through Facebook to reach out to the prior owner. They were very receptive and even excited to tell me about this car and their Passion for Power that went into the build. The first thing they cautioned me of, THIS WAS A E85 ONLY build. They told me that they had spent over 135k building this car and that it was dyno'd by the builder in Texas to get over 1000 Horse Power. First thing I did, was drain the tank and get the E85 in there. Then, I arranged to go meet the owners, find out their story and document their tale of building this very unique Mustang.

Starting in the spring of 2013, the original owner of this Mustang became determined to build a highly modified Mustang GT convertible, one like no one had. So they contracted with a shop in McKinney, Texas to begin their journey. True Street Motorsports would be just that shop. Known for their specialty builds and their performance cars both on street and on track. As it would start, the owners originally looked to build this stock car to a 600 horse power output. So, the build began. Each time they finished a build and brought it out to the shows and tracks, they would determine that they just had to have more power...so back to the guys at True Street Motorsports for more power modifications and alterations. The next time it came out, it was about 750hp...but again, that wasn't enough for its horse power hungry owners. A third build and more money...a lot more money...a complete tear down of the engine and a highly technical build with internal components, suspension and body modifications, a custom transmission, clutch and rear end would finally produce their 1000 hp monster. That's 1000 HP to the rear wheels mind you. Now, you are wondering why did I pull less...and a phone call to Clint at True Street Motorsports was next for me. One, E85 fuel is a MUST in this car for about an additional 100-150 horse power. Then Clint also said that they removed the air cleaner for full access as well at about 18lbs boost. So, yes, when I claim this car is a 1000+ Horse Power Mustang Convertible, you'd better believe it and True Street Motorsports will also back it up too (see the DynoJet run sheet below). Know this though, building a car of this quality doesn't come cheap or without lots of time. The build spanned over three years. It's probably one of the ONLY Mustang Convertibles on the planet to boast over 1000 horse power and in a build that feels solid as a rock too. Why did the owner lose this car though? Well, part of my passion for automobiles, is learning about their prior owners.

Extreme Passion for Power comes at a price. Not just in money, but in time and commitment to see it through. The original owners of this Mustang had a successful contractor's license and company in Texas that fueled their Passion for Power. No expenses were ever spared. Spending six figures on any car is full commitment for anyone, wealthy or not. But money doesn't always solve everything. Sometime in 2016, the owner became diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurative (HS), a very rare and extremely long term skin condition that causes abscesses and scarring on very sensitive areas of the body. Almost immediately the doctors recommended that he more to a dry climate and that his days in construction would be no longer. So the owner and his wife and their three dogs moved to Las Vegas. Putting their priorities to his health, they released this car to be sold at auction. They told me that they had dreamed of putting a wide body kit on this car, but decided against throwing more money at the car when his health was declining. So here it is... a Mustang GT Convertible built like no other, power beyond belief but documented and receipts for the build that boggles the mind. True Street Motorsports, the builders with fond memories of a client with unlimited resources to build such an outstanding Mustang... that put no limits to their Passion for Power.

So to give a technical synopsis of the build and time frame, our receipts show an invoice from June 06, 2013 where the owners spent over $14000 installing at the time, a ProCharger F1 98 (a smaller supercharger than what’s on there now), the intercooler, all the specialized fuel delivery systems to compensate, the pillar gauges and dash pod, an e-Brake kit and a 1” lowering Polyurethane motor mounts and of course tuning for the upgrades.

By mid-November of 2013, Double Adjustable Rear Shocks and Cobra Jet Front shocks kit, some of the sub-frame fabrications and drive shaft loops installed; another $3500.

By late November of the same year, the owner spent over $23,000 Upgrading the exhaust system all the way through, had a custom built intake and throttle body installed, Forged Motor rebuild. Forged rods, forged pistons, bearings, wrist pins, total seal rings, Billet oil pump gears, head cooling mods, ARP head bolts, main bolts. rod bolts, replaced all engine gaskets and machine work, Installed Stage 3 heads, added a McLeod Clutch, Stage 3 Blower Cam & ARP Cam bolts, Custom race valve springs & Retainer kit, Cobra Jet Reluctor Ring, ATI Blower Pulley & Belt, PushLock fittings, Injector Dynamics 130lb,and all new hoses.

During 2014 they must have been enjoying the car but with less horse power than their passion wanted.

This was our DynoJet test was on Premium Pump Gas, not on E85...air cleaner intake on and fully restricted. The DynoJet test below is from True Street Motorsports where the car was fully unrestricted on the SuperCharger intake and running on E85. YES...That's 1036.24 Horse Power. Now that's what we call Passion for Power!

Enter June 2015 and another complete engine and drivetrain tear down would go into process along with another $37,000. This is where it looks like the passion for power hit its pinnacle. The Mini tub of the rear end, which meant the complete tear down of the entire vehicle. (Clint at True Street Motorsports told me that he underbid the MiniTub aspect of this build by about $11000 less dollars than he billed) The high performance Magnum XL T-56 6-speed Tremec with gear ratios at 2.66/1.78/1.30/1.00/.74/.50, a performance Aluminum Drive shaft, Twin Disc Clutch upgrade, upgraded the ProCharger Blower to the F1-A-94 to cross the 1000hp barrier, Extensive internal engine upgrades and suspension modifications, Billet aluminum flywheel with steel inserts and the high performance shortened Ford 4.10 Racing gears rear end. The fully custom made wheels were ordered.

By November of 2016 the car finally returned to the owners with a new fuel system and a highly modified trunk fuel cell, a 10 point roll cage through the dash and retaining the rear seat. New performance fuel lines for greater fuel delivery, Rear End suspension to accommodate the 1000 horse power launches, Custom Moser Axles, rear double adjustable AFCO coil-over shocks installed, with QA1 Variable Coil Over springs, new brake lines, and a new Dyno that would put 1036hp at the rear wheels with the air intake system removed and E85 gas. Another $7000…and we still don’t show the receipts for the Raceline Custom One Off Wheels, Tires, Carbon Fiber Hood, the Wheelwood Racing Brakes conversion, the interior seats, belts, and the Electric Exhaust Cut-Outs and the final installation of such. So, with $85000 just billed just from True Street Motorsports, the client’s claim of over 135k into the car stands pretty dang solid. Seeing is believing though, so look through the pictures, past the girl, and on to the hardware and watch the videos. A note from the owner.

I am a “used car dealer” but before that, I’m an automobile enthusiast. I love original rare and high quality modified vintage cars and over the past decade I’ve been in business, have come to appreciate an expanding selection of high-demand, high value vehicles. I specialize in and am always on the lookout for cars and trucks that were cherished by their previous owners. I have an experienced eye for quality but I’ve discovered that my preferred buyer can instantly discern such a vehicle and I have therefore, built my business and reputation around finding these kinds of cars for this type of customer. It has taken great care and effort to create such an organization and often, an unusually high investment in a particular car we are about to list. To sell the best it is critical to have a trusted expert in my corner and Chris, owner of A-Best Auto Repair in Henderson, Nevada has my back. He and his crew can fix anything; from a low budget beater to the absolute most expensive exotic you can name, no job is too big and no small detail unimportant. They do an exhaustive 130 point inspection on each and every vehicle and nothing escapes their methodical investigation. Experience has shown that everything I spend making a car truly “right” will come back to me not only with a higher selling price, but a happy customer that says good things about me. Moreover; it allows my writer to describe the car with ease and confidence, something that simply is not possible unless he thinks it is true. If major issues are found or the cost of fixing the car the way it should be makes it too expensive to sell, my choice is an easy one. I simply absorb a few hundred dollars loss for my trouble and sell it at auction.

After the vehicle is fully sorted it arrives at our facility where it encounters the suspicious eye of Tom, my writer that creates the presentations you see on eBay. He believes absolutely nothing I or anyone else tells him about the car as he combs over every inch, researches its history and documents originality and authenticity. Historical significance, rarity, special features, possible modifications and much more are used to accurately describe the vehicle with integrity and honesty. Most important for the potential buyer are the 100 to 150 high resolution pictures that I take myself. The pricey equipment I use would be right at home in the hands of the very best professional photographers and I’ve developed a logical format that walks you around the entire vehicle with close-up shots of every square inch. I provide detailed views of the interior, under the hood and then put it on a lift to show the undercarriage and confirm that the beauty of the car you are considering is not merely skin deep. Even our detailers are enthusiastic about the cars they so meticulously clean. This reconditioning can sometimes take several days and I’ve converted a paint booth, especially prepared for the professional clay bar and polishing each car lovingly receives.

Usually, I’ll also include a high definition video that shows the car doing its thing. If it’s a fast car, we film it going fast. If it’s a 4x4 you’ll see it crawling up a hill. In every case you will hear things like a rumbling exhaust, working sound system and watch the temperature fall on a digital, laser thermometer pointed at an air conditioning vent. How many “dealers” will video a Lotus Esprit doing a buck-eighty? We do.

No “dealer,” on-line or in the real world, takes it to this level. No other seller or organization provides you, the buyer, with so much information. I do this because it is the only way I can convince a person; often a world away, unable to touch or feel their purchase, that my vehicle is for real and what I say is the truth. All the above is necessary for me to stay in business while keeping integrity intact. I want every buyer to be happy and I need glowing feedback on eBay. To accomplish that I need satisfied customers that are as thrilled with their purchase as I was when I bought it.

We are just 25 minutes from Las Vegas International Airport (McCarran) and welcome the opportunity to meet the winning bidder there and drive them to our facility for vehicle delivery. We have years of experience with vehicle shipping, nationwide and across the globe. We stand ready to help with whatever arrangements are necessary at the buyers request and expense. This vehicle will not be delivered or released for shipment until complete payment is received and all funds have cleared.
