This is one of many pre war and post war race cars we have owned.

Discovered at Indiana Barn in 2000 by a well-known Bentley - Delahaye Collector who commissioned a No-Cost-Spared-Restoration in 2003.
One of many pre-war and post-war Boattail and Champ Cars I have owned, but now at 76, most of my cars must go.
Research indicates this classic INDY Roadster did not qualify at INDY in 1957, and was re-powered by a 1952 Oldsmobile 303 V8, inthe late 50's after the car was no longer a competitive design for INDY.The Classic Roadsters were new in the 50's, and have a large cockpit with lots of leg and foot room. With electric start, 3 speed trans w / clutch and 4 wheel hydraulic brakes, it is a very well equipped race car to drive.
The Indianapolis Race was a Formula 1 event in 1957, and the car may be eligible for Historic F1.
About 15 years ago, this post-War drum car received a first class professional "no cost spared" total restoration, and runs and drives as well as it looks.
This car has a LARGE COCKPIT with lots of legroom .
We have just converted it from oval track to used for road racing. It isa great car for vintage / historic road racing.
Available at my shop in Alabama, we have exported many cars and can assist

and is a GREAT car for BIG DRIVERS ... the cockpit is larger than, and has a LOT of leg room, and foot room in the pedal area. It can easily accommodate TALL drivers, 6 '+ .....
It runs and drives very, very, well.
We have just converted it from oval track to used for road racing. Although the pictures show the brake pedal for the left foot, it is now on the right foot side.
The car has hydraulic brakes on all 4 wheels. It has a Fuel Safe FT3 Fuel Cell.Quick release steering wheel. The tires are adequate for exhibition, new tires should be considered for serious racing, and as with any race car, typical pre-race checkover should be done before any race.We ship many cars to Europe, Asia, and "Down Under," and will gladly assist you with arrangements .... it may be possible to have the car landed at your port in early June .....

On May-13-18 at 08:35:12 PDT, seller added the following information:

In response to many questions, the car has a closed driveshaft, a Quick Change rear , and a custom Fuel Safe fuel cell.
I have added a picture of the car when it was found in 1999, before restoration, and you can see the condition was good, and it is restored, not changed. The original painted steel wheels and tires shown, can come with the car, if you want them..
In the picture posted with the steering wheel, you can see the brake pedal has been moved to the right side, so the car can be raced on either an oval track or road course.

On May-14-18 at 07:16:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

To answer questions, there is no documentation, no logbook( never roadraced before), We have not found ID on frame which is not unusual. The owner in '99 who had the car in his barn in Indiana for 25+ years told Scott it was the Shannon Motors car from Dayton. He is now deceased. I bought it from Scott who is 86 and in bad health, and spoke to the owner of the restoration shop who did the work in 1999.. It's not Shannon Bros 1st Kurtis, it's the Watts that Gene Force drove when it had the Offy. Watts was Shannon's engineer, and built the car for Shannon Bros, copying much of the Kurtis, but changed some things, according to news sources, etc. Research continues and takes time...Example... AAA Champ car with the Studebaker that I sold to Germany in November, last week I discovered it ran Pikes Peak in 1952. ........The Cantanaro Spl with the Wayne 12 port that ran at INDY in 1949 and 51...it took a year for me to get it's history... Two years after I had the Datsun 510, the original driver called and told me it had Trans AM History... similar situation with "Old Blue" ....and those are just a few of many that we have had in the past.
The reserve is low... and not based on documentation or history. When the complete history of the car is determined, the value will increase accordingly.

On May-17-18 at 16:02:15 PDT, seller added the following information:

Above, I intended to say " No documentation came with the car "
We have done some research of Shannon Brothers 4 years racing the Kurtis and Watts INDY Roadsters, and as the internet grows, more documentation becomes available.
