This is a very cool gasser / hot rod. Notice that this is a business man's coupe. ( much smaller rear side glass and shorter roof ) 53 is the last year Chevy made these desirable coupes.This is an older drag car that has been recently up dated so it has very few miles on the new build. Body: All steel and rust free except for a few very small pin holes on the bottom side of just one door. The door skin is perfect. The body in general is very straight. The paint is just a single stage enamel job, so do not expect a show quality base coat clear coat job. The rear side glass is actually lexan. The front and rear windshields are real glass. The door glass is missing. I was going to run lexan in those openings also. I do have all of the original window tracks, vent windows, cranking mechanisms, etc. It also comes with $500.00 worth of brand new weather striping in the packages to re-install of the door glass if that is the way you want to go. All you would need is the actual glass which is very cheap to buy. This is not a trailer queen and it has been driven. The paint looks good, but there are road chips, small scratches here and there, etc. All lights work. I do have extra paint for touch up if needed. Note: That small defect ( in the first picture ) on the drivers door is not actually there? The camera added that somehow or it is a shadow from something near by? See pic of the whole left side to verify that it is not there. Chassis: The chassis work was done right. It has a rack and pinion driven straight axle from Speedway. It steers like it has power steering. The complete rear ladder bar / leaf spring suspension and 9" Ford 4:11 posi rear end with complete housing, disc brakes, etc is all new and came from Currie Enterprises. ( not some cheap home made set up ) It has 4 wheel power disc brakes and stops on a dime. Wheels are real vintage American "D" spokes. Notice the shank style lug nuts in the pics. Tires are all new with Firestone pie crust slicks. Car drives, stops, and handles great. Drive Line: Bored out 350 small block. Thumper cam. Dual Edelbraock Carbs sitting on top of a cool vintage Weiand tunnel ram manifold. Vintage Eldelbrock signature series valve covers with spacers. Not sure of the actual horse power, but I'd say somewhere in the mid to upper 400 HP range? Runs on premium pump gas. New ceramic coated fender well headers. 3" exhaust that exits in front of the rear tires. Very loud and throaty sound like a gasser should be. Built 350 Turbo. Heavy duty Currie 4:11 posi 9" ford rear end. Custom HD drive shaft. I did not paint the yellow on the engine parts. I was not a fan of it originally, but it has kind of grown on me. At least it was done right because it was all powder coated to last. Interior: Completely finished in basic gasser style. Full headliner and carpet. Comfortable leather seat. Gauges all work. Tach works. No wipers or horn. Basically very nice finished look but not over the top show car style. It is very fast, but I have not run it at any track to see what times it can run. The Firestone slicks just spin on the street. With slicks that would stick, it could probably run in the 11s in the quarter mile. I have quite a few extra parts that go with the car including a factory radio delete blank off plate, a front gasser bar style front bumper that has a spot for a moon tank, lights, dash parts, etc. I also have an extra rust free stock front fenders and hood that I will let go with the car for an additional $300.00 I amprobably forgetting to list something, so PLEASE call with questions before you hit the place bid key.
